IRMAS

The Sisters of Mary (Irmãs de María) have a mission : to serve the poor among the poorest in developing countries.

With 60 years of experience and coming themselves from extreme poverty, these women begin their mission by exploring the most remote or poorest areas. They detect the children who will be willing to study among those who suffer the most as well as those most affected by hunger. This large-scale humanitarian work opens its arms to children of all religions and cultures.

With infinite patience and attention, they mend the hearts of each of these young people. With the consent of the families, they welcome them and give them the opportunity to attend free, high-quality academic, artistic and sports programs, as well as vocational training tailored to the needs of the countries, in the hope of helping to develop their native regions.

Through their actions and testimonies, this film depicts the absolute devotion of these sincere and serene women. Despite the many obstacles they must overcome, they demonstrate tireless determination.
